MCH is the newest addition to the Garonga Safari Company family. With its tented camps, it embodies authentic safari style, with the added luxuries that make it a signature ‘safari for the soul’.
MCH offers a private and intimate bush getaway for groups of families or friends and is thus perfect for extended stays. Individual couples can also enjoy our luxurious tented camp.
Perched on a small hill (kopje), the four tents that comprise MCH Camp each has a sumptuous bath tub, indoor and outdoor showers, as well as air conditioning and wi-fi.
The indoor lounge that flows onto a private deck is the perfect spot to sample the well stocked bar and the panoramic views of the Makalali wilderness and the distant Drakensberg Mountains.

Garonga is situated in the 27,000ha Greater Makalali Private Nature Reserve, just North of Hoedspruit in the province of Limpopo, South Africa. Not only does the reserve boast the presence of the Big Five (including black and white rhino), it is also home to cheetah, wild dog, hyena, hippo, crocodiles and an abundance of plains, game and bird life.

All our guests can request a private dining setup, regardless of whether you are staying at Safari Camp, Little Garonga or MCH.
Taste our safari cuisine under the African sky at the Bush Boma. This is an outdoor communal area, where we often host dinners – our pizza ovens are a firm favourite. Complete with a fully-stocked bar and fire pit, it is a relaxed setting to unwind and dine under the stars while making new friends and sharing stories of the day’s game viewing.
Indulge in a full sensory experience with a Bush Breakfast at one of our favourite wild locations. Tuck into a full breakfast spread, while listening to the sounds of the bush at dawn or sharing your wildlife sighting expectations for that day with others.
